Luis Diaz is proud to call Harry Kane his team-mate at Bayern Munich, describing the England striker as a "machine" in front of goal.

Diaz teamed up with Kane after arriving from Liverpool for an estimated €75m (£65.4m) ahead of this season, and they have combined to spectacular effect in the Bundesliga.

With Bayern six points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the summit, Kane (26 goals, five assists) and Diaz (13 goals, 10 assists) rank first and third, respectively, for total goal involvements in the German top flight in 2025-26.

Their Bayern team-mate Michael Olise is second, having scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists for Vincent Kompany's side.

Kane has been tipped to break Robert Lewandowski's single-season Bundesliga goal record (41 in 2020-21) this term, and Diaz has enjoyed every moment of playing with him.

"It makes me very proud to play in a team with Harry and Michael. They are technically really spectacular," the Colombian told Sky Sports DE.

"Harry, for example, he just does everything well. He surprised me very much. I saw him play in England because we played against Tottenham several times. 

"But it's one thing to see him on the other side, another thing is to really share the locker room with him and to be on the training ground with him every day, and to see how he works for us as a team, how he moves, how he drops again and again and demands the ball.

"And, of course, how he scores goals. He is a machine. He really does everything well. I'm very proud to be part of this attack."

Diaz also ranks fourth among all Bundesliga players for chances created (46), and third for both open-play chances created (45) and successful dribbles (48), in his debut campaign.

And he never saw his hefty price tag as something that might weigh him down, saying: "I was confronted with my transfer fee by a journalist on the day I signed, saying I'm one of the most expensive players and so on. 

"I said back then: 'If this club relies on me, I'll only try to give the answer on the pitch'. I didn't intend to put any pressure on myself or tell myself that I have to be the best now. 

"No, it was and is always about the team. I wanted to go step by step to first familiarise myself with the team and from then on, just do my job. 

"I had some good games and I have to say, after a few months I feel even more comfortable."

Bayern are next in action against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, before they visit Dortmund for a pivotal match in the title race one week later.
